I would love to talk about "how to control the stage"
Stage fright..
Mostly that will happen when we were told to presenting
(in whatever) in front of huge crowd..
Am I right?
So
How to make the stage is yours?
There are few strategies..
First:
Be prepared!
Exactly, why do stage fright even happen?
That's because you afraid that something will go wrong
once you are upstage
The best way to control it?
Be fully prepared before the presentation
Mentally and physically
Make sure everything are in a good condition
Or not, you can't give your best shot!
* double check!
and it best if you try to practice
in front of the mirror
that way, you can see directly how your expression look like
2nd:
Plan your strategies
You must have strategies
What are you going to do once you walk up on stage?
From the starting point until..
the end of your presentation
Plan! Plan! Plan!
* When you are planning,
PLEASE! jot it down or your mind will change every time you ARE PLANNING
3rd:
Understand
What is the purpose of presenting?
To make people know what are you presenting through your presentation..
* for example,
singers make people understand their feelings through the song
and e.t.c
Therefore!
Before you make people understand,
Understand it first!
You have to really really know what are you presenting
How can people take your presentation to the heart if you
yourself don't take it to your heart yourself first?
Don't just memorize your text
You'll look like you are just reading
Understand and memorize!
Then, you'll have a heart to heart conversation
(with your audience of course)
4th:
Visualization strategies
When you are presenting
Visualize yourself in front of your laughing friend
(even though they are not actually your friend and not laughing at all)
Visualize the happiest moment you had so that your heart will be at ease for a bit
Visualize that the audience know nothing
nothing at all about your content of presentation
* if you keep thinking that people are judging your presentation
don't! you'll get more nervous that way
5th:
In Case
In case that you body are trembling on the stage
Try move your body around a little
In case your voice are shaking while presenting
(and you will tend to talk faster than normal)
Try to talk slowly and remember to smile
Relax your face muscle
And..good luck!
